This Scientific and technical cultural centre of the sea allows visitors to learn about the natural history of the oceans through scientists’ eyes. Visitors can discover the underwater world with its flora and fauna through 3 theme pavilions, dedicated to the polar, tropical and temperate sea ecosystems. The 4th pavilion holds a large exhibition about the biodiversity of the sea.

The Terenez bridge

The new Terenez bridge, open to traffic since April 2011, is an exceptional work of art that differs by its unique architectural design. This first cable-stayed bridge of France holds the world record of distance between two pillars (265 m).



The Menez-Hom, situated in the town of Plomodiern, is the highest point of the Black Mountains. At 330 metres, it offers an incomparable view on the bay of Douarnenez and the roads of Brest. The 480 million year old relief is one of the highest points of Brittany.

The Mineral House

This Breton museum is absolutely worth a visit for those who wish to discover the geological origins of the region, with those of the Crozon peninsula in particular. All year round, the Maison des Minéraux organises geological excursions, scientific workshops as well as hikes with sounds. A “must-do” to learn all about the landscapes and the history of the Crozon peninsula.

Cap de la chèvre

The Cap de la chèvre

The cap de la Chèvre, facing south, faces the north side of cap Sizun and closes off the bay of Douarnenez. The site is listed as a natural monument for its exceptional landscapes and it is part of the Armorican Regional Natural Park. Near this cape, various magic places can be visited, such as the virgin island.



Situated at the extreme west side of the Crozon peninsula, the town of CAMARET-SUR-MER shows the range of its three rocky points. Discover the various touristy sites of Camaret: the marina, the beaches, the pointe de Pen hir, a large natural site, or the Vauban tower, part of UNESCO’s world heritage.



The large architectural heritage of Locronan, that has been preserved quite early on, has allowed the village to become a member of the network of small towns with character. Today, Locronan also holds the label of one of the most beautiful villages of France. Around the church, the village’s roofs are true works of art.



  Our region

The town of Saint-Nic is situated along one of the most beautiful fine sand beaches of the bay of Douarnenez (a beach of nearly 4 km). This beach is ideal for some relaxing, but also for those who love to practise their passion of sensational watersports. Hikers will appreciate the various excursions departing from this town. Art fanatics will love the historical and religious heritage, with in particular the Saint Côme and Saint Damien chapel, a real beauty.
